Kosovo Parliament speaker Glauk Konjufca said it is not in the interest of Kosovo to have a Management Team tasked with drafting the statute of the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities (CSM) that does not act in accordance with the Kosovo Constitution and law.

Following a debate organized by the Kosovo Judicial Institute, Konjufca said an institution that considers itself Kosovar should take Kosovar positions, reported KoSSev.

“An institution that considers itself to be from Kosovo must act in accordance with the Constitution and our laws and in our state interest, but if the institution is not from Kosovo and in terms of its actions takes positions that are not from Kosovo but from Serbia, I think it is not in Kosovo’s interest to cooperate with that institution,” stressed Konjufca.

In addition to not being accountable to Kosovo’s institutions, the Management Team is also led by a Serbian MP.

“I expect nothing good from the leader of this management team who is (Serbian President) Aleksandar Vucic’s deputy. And Aleksandar Vucic’s deputy cannot write parts of Kosovo’s institutional framework. It’s the A,B,C’s of our state interest,” said Konjufca, wondering how a Serbian MP can represent Kosovo.

He said the CSM statute should not be accepted even if it is well written.

„I think that even if she writes the draft well that does not mean we have to accept it, because it is not a matter of what she writes, but that she has no right to write at all. She represents Serbia, the Serbian President’s political party and the Serbian Parliament,” stressed Konjufca.
