For the seventh consecutive attempt at the continuation of the Kosovo Assembly's constitutive session, Albulena Haxhiu, the Self-Determination Movement's candidate, did not secure the necessary 61 votes to be elected as the Speaker of the Kosovo Assembly.
Similar to the previous session, 57 deputies voted in favour of Haxhiu, while 41 voted against, and three abstained.
Following the session, representatives of the former opposition stated their refusal to vote for Haxhiu but expressed readiness to support another candidate from the Self-Determination Movement.
The Democratic League of Kosovo reiterated their stance, affirming that they "will never vote for a candidate of the Self-Determination Movement" for the position of parliamentary speaker.
The presiding member of the constitutive session, Avni Dehari, announced the eighth continuation of the session for Tuesday, April 29th.
