Kosovo defense minister says more troops being recruited

He wrote in a Facebook post that “the army is unanimously a priority of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo”. He added that 1,931 troops have been inducted to date with another 40 being processed. The invitation to apply to serve will be opened in September.

“We promised to increase defense capacities and along with almost doubling the total number of soldiers, we invested in the most modern armament systems,” he wrote.

He said that the authorities in Pristina have “a clear vision than of Kosovo’s military as part of NATO, and a guarantee of Kosovo’s sovereignty and territorial integrity”.
