Foreign Minister Donika Gervala, who would chair the Group, said the goal was to improve the procedure for joining NATO, speed up Kosovo’s membership in the Partnership for Peace and strengthen Pristina’s presence in the international security organisations.

She said that Kosovo’s urgent admission to NATO was necessary “because of the Russian invasion of Ukraine and Moscow’s intention to destabilise the Euro-Atlantic progress and global peace.
NATO has said Pristina could not join the Alliance since four of its members, Greece, Romania, Slovakia and Spain, did not recognise Kosovo as an independent state.
The idea of Kosovo’s NATO membership came from Ankara when Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğansaid he would advocate it.
Pristina on Wednesday also abolished visas for Ukrainians who want to come to Kosovo.
