The insignia of the war-time Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) was put up on a hill over the divided city of Mitrovica in northern Kosovo, the Serbian state TV (RTS) reported on Tuesday.
It said that the letters UCK (acroynom for the Albanian KLA) painted in bright red appeared on the Crnusa hill which has been earmarked by the authorities in the Albanian populated Mitrovica South part of the city as the future site of a base for the Kosovo Security Forces.
The same letters were placed on other hills in Kosovo such as the fortress above the city of Prizren, the RTS said.
It said that the KLA committed a large number of crimes, including killings and abductions of both Serb and non-Serb civilians and security forces personnel in 1998 and 1999. KLA commanders are standing trial before the Specialist Chambers in the Hague.
