The Decani monastery was issued a document proving that it was the owner of a disputed piece of land, the KoSSev news portal said on Wednesday.

The document was issued by the land registry. The Kosovo government ordered the land registry to enter the disputed 24 hectares into the records as belonging to the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC) monastery. The land was part of the farm land given back to the monastery by the Yugoslav authorities in the 1990s. The monastery had most of its land seized by the Communist authorities after WW 2. Ownership of the 24 hectares was disputed by the local Albanian authorites in the hamlet of Decani. The Kosovo Constitutional Court ruled that the land belonged to the monastery 8 years ago but the ruling was not implemented.

KoSSev quoted unnamed sources at the monastery who said that the 2016 Consttutional Court ruling has been implemented.
