The Kosovo government said on Monday that Prime Minister Albin Kurti appointed a political advisor for the south of Serbia.

The press release said that Kurti appointed Ardita Sinani as his political advisor for the municipalities of Presevo, Medvedja and Bujanovac which have large ethnic Albanian populations. It added that this was the first step to the forming of an office within the prime minister’s cabinet for those three municipalities in southern Serbia.

“The office will be charged with improving the position of Albanians in those municipalities, maintaining good relations and increasing institutional cooperation to protect and promote their rights as a requirement of the times,” the press release said.
