Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti said that the authorities in Pristina are not angry nor critical about the sanctions imposed by the European Union.

He told a meeting of his cabinet that Kosovo “is the most honest and stable partner in the region”. “Regardless of circumstances, we appreciate the support and assistance of the EU over the years and look forward to the members questionnaire because Europe is our continent. The EU is our destiny,” he is reported to have said.

The EU imposed sanctions on the authorities in Pristina because of the tensions in north Kosovo which began when newly-elected ethnic Albanian mayors took office with a police escort in majority-Serb municipalities, prompting local Serbs to protest violently.
