Kosovo police launch anti-smuggler operation

The police also seized large amounts of goods and several vehicles in the town of Strpce and in the Bosnjacka Mahala neighborhood in Mitrovica North. The operation named Transport 2 was launched by the border police and Kosovo Customs Service. It comes after a similar operation last November in the Urosevac area when police seized large amounts of goods from Serbia proper.

The KoSSev news portal quoted a police statement which said the operation was conducted in three municipalities in Strpce and one in Mitrovica north. It said that the police seized food, alcoholic beverages, tobacco products and other undocumented goods.

The statement said 11 men were arrested and three cars seized.
