Kosovo prosecutor says carload of weapons seized

Kosovo Special Prosecutor Naim Abazi said on Monday that the police found a car full of weapons in the majority-Serb town of Zvecan, adding that there are indications of more weapons being hidden in the area.

Abazi told the Koha.net portal the operation to find more caches and vehicles is underway following Sunday’s armed clash in which a policeman and several members of an armed group were killed at the Banjska monastery.

Local media reported that at least 10 police vehicles arrived in the Banjska area. The Special Prosecutor said that several cameras were also seized. “We are identifying witnesses,” Abazi said.

The Kosovo police released photographs of the seized weapons on its Facebook profile.
