“Another victory for rule of law and security,” Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti said following the seizure of weapons and ammunition in Zvecan, northern Kosovo.

Assisted by KFOR and the Bomb Squad, the Kosovo Police raided Monday a house in Zvecan, northern Kosovo, and uncovered explosives, hand grenades, four AK-47 rifles (Kalashnikov), ammunition and other items.

The Kosovo Police said no arrests were made though they have information about a potential suspect.

Kosovo Internal Affairs Minister Xhelal Svecla said the house was used “to collect and distribute weapons for Serb criminal groups,” KoSSev reported.

Unlike Minister Svecla, Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti laid the blame on “violent gangs.”

“Today the Kosovo Police, in the presence of KFOR, raided an arms depot in Zvecan used to smuggle weapons into Kosova for distribution to violent gangs,” Kurti posted on X (formerly Twitter).
