A Kosovo Serb, suspected of war crimes against civilians committed in 1999 in the Vucitrn municipality, was arrested Monday in Mitrovica North in Kosovo, KoSSev reported.
It said that the suspect with the initials Z.N. (aged 70) is suspected of “sexual violence,” that he was questioned in the presence of a lawyer, and remanded in custody for 48 hours.
The arrest was made by the Kosovo Police Pristina units, assisted by members of the regional police for the north of Kosovo, the regional deputy commander told KoSSev.
The Serbian Government’s Office for Kosovo and Metohija said Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti and the executors of his plan of Kosovo’s ethnic cleansing will not rest until there is not a single Serb left in Kosovo. (Kosovo and Metohija is the official name for what the Serbian authorities consider to be the country’s southern province)
“Today’s arrest of Z.N. in Kosovska Mitrovica confirms this, a man who had been expelled from Vucitrn along with hundreds of Serbs,” said the Office.
It stressed that dozens of Serbs have been arrested in Kosovo on suspicion of war crimes, yet that it later on proved that they are “guilty simply because someone wanted their property.”
The Office for Kosovo and Metohija said it demands that the international community guarantee the minimum of human and civil rights and conditions for the Serbs’ dignified life in Kosovo.
