Kosovo Special Police raids Radoicic residence, Mitrovica hospital
Kosovo Special Police units raided several buildings in Mitrovica North, including the home of Serb List deputy leader Milan Radoicic, an N1 reporter said on Friday.
The N1 crew recorded video of a large number of armored vehicles and police officers with assault weapons deployed in front of the building. The police seized two Mercedes cars with Belgrade license plates and a quad and drove them off under armored car escort.
Special Prosecutor Naim Abazi told KoSSev that the police searched properties identified as belonging to Radoicic.
The building where Radoicic lives includes the Grej restaurant which is one of two of the same name claimed to be owned by alleged Kosovo underworld figure Zvonko Veselinovic. KoSSev reported that the police took two paper bags out of the restaurant.
The Special Police also raided the Mitrovica North hospital whose CEO Dr Zlatan Eleksaid that they broke glass on the doors to the laundry and boiler room at around 6 am when staff and Medical School students were coming in to work. Dr Elek said that the commander of the police unit said he had a warrant to search the hospital 15 minutes after the raid started but refused to say what his men were looking for. He said the police removed video surveillance equipment and left a note in Albanian which said the search was completed without finding anything.
Elek said that EULEX personnel didn’t leave their vehicle which was parked about 50 meters from the hospital.
