Albin Kurti, Kosovo's Prime Minister, asked in Brussels on Tuesday night the five remaining European Union member states that had not recognised his country's independence to do that.

After the working dinner for the Western Balkans' leaders, organised by Josep Borrell, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kurti said such recognition would lead Kosovo towards the European integrations.

Spain, Greece, Cyprus, Romania, and Slovakia have refused to recognise Kosovo as an independent state since its unilateral declaration of independence from Serbia in February 2008.

Kurti also reiterated the need for visa liberalisation for Kosovo's people, adding his country was the only one in Europe whose young people were isolated.
