Workers of the Krusik munitions plant in the western Serbian city of Valjevo who staged Wednesday an hour-long warning strike turned down the management’s offer for an April salary increase of 2,000 to 5,000 dinars (1 Euro – 117 Dinars).
The workers demanded a salary increase of 10,000 dinars in April to keep in step with rising inflation. In addition, they requested that their salaries in the coming months be agreed on the basis of the achieved production plan in a given quarter.
The workers have still not decided on what further steps they will take in order to achieve their demands, but they earlier announced the possibility of a day-long strike.
