Prime Minister Albin Kurti went on a tour of the majority-Serb municipalities in the north of Kosovo, meeting with their ethnic Albanian mayors and calling the local Serbs to take part in the coming census.
The KoSSev news portal said that he visited Leposavic, Zubin Potok, the Banjska village (the site of last year’s armed incident between police and armed Serbs) and Mitrovica North.
Kurti also visited memorials to two Kosovo Albanian police officers killed on duty in Zubin Potok and Banjska.
Today, I visited all 4 northern Serbian-majority municipalities, incl. the place where our policeman, Afrim Bunjaku, was killed by Serbian paramilitary forces last Sept. The future of our country is everyone's right & responsibility, & together we will work for a bright tomorrow. pic.twitter.com/fX4twSa6To

He told reporters in Mitrovica North that his visit was fore the benefit of the population regardless of nationality, ethnicity or religion. “Equality unites people. We are opposed to divisions in society, we want equality. Our institutions shoud take that approach towards the public and their approach to institutions,” he said. Kurti said every attempt at destabilizing Kosovo comes from Serbia.
He called the Serbs to take part in the census. “I am calling all Serb citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, citizens who live here not just in the northern part of Mitrovica but anywhere in Kosovo to take part because we are planning subsidies, investments, works, education, a health care system. We need to have an exact number of people and that will be reflected in the budget… whoever does not register will get less of the budget,” he said.
