Kurti: Escalation only if Belgrade organizes it

He said that the situation in the north had de-escalated and added that Pristina abides by the agreement reached by deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi and European Union envoy Miroslav Lajcak in Bratislava.

Kurti told the cabinet meeting that he told Western Balkan and EU officials in Athens that the de-escalation was the result of the “arrest of violent people who attacked the police, KFOR troops and journalists as well as the departure of violent extremists to Serbia”. According to him, efforts must be invested to prevent an escalation of the situation.
