Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti signed a decision to take the first steps towards establishing a factory for ammunition production and a laboratory for designing drones in Kosovo, reported KoSSev.
Kosovo is marking November 27 as the Day of the Kosovo Security Force (KSF), it said.
Addressing a Kosovo Government meeting, Kurti talked about investments in the KSF, the increased budget for the KSF during his four-year term, the overall situation, and the ongoing training of KSF members.
He said that, before attending the government session, he signed a decision to take the first step toward establishing a military industry in Kosovo.
“I proudly present this today. One of the decisions I signed before coming here is the decision to take the necessary step in terms of assessing and initiating the procedure for negotiations related to the establishment of a factory for ammunition production and a laboratory for designing drones in Kosovo,” Kurti told the meeting.
“Our army has, in a short time, been armed with what is necessary to ensure full operational capability and overall sustainability. Today, we are taking the first steps to establish a military industry,” he added.
