Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti confirmed the existence of a French-German initiative that wants to give greater powers to EU Special Representative for the Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue and other Western Balkan regional issues Miroslav Lajcak, but added that “there is nothing final,” Beta reported.

There is nothing final, let alone decisive, that it could be said that this is the French-German proposal regarding the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Kurti said in the city of Gnjilane, adding that he presented a general framework for the dialogue at the August 18 meeting in Brussels.

Kosovo’s Prime Minister said different models are discussed but that that there is nothing definite and that there are more different ideas circulating in Berlin, Brussels, Washington, but also in London, Rome, Paris, Belgrade and Pristina.

I am fully committed to the transparency of the process, but there is also the confidentiality of the talks, said Kurti, explaining that all the ideas put forward by officials and diplomats cannot be made public.

Something needs to be accepted so it could be made public, said Kurti.
