Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti visited the majority Serb part of the divided city of Mitrovica on Tuesday, the KoSSev news portal reported.
It said that Kurti came to Mitrovica with Internal Affairs Minister Xhelal Svecla and Local Administration Minister Elbert Krasniqi. KoSSev said they took part in a groundbreaking ceremony for a police station in the village of Lesak.
The Serbian-language news portal said that the police arrested the leader of the Serb Democracy Party Aleksandar Arsenijevic while Kurti was in the town. Arsenijevic reported the arrest of four Serbs overnight earlier on Tuesday.
The deputy leader of the Serb Democracy Party, Ivan Orlovic, was also arrested for disturbing public order and peace during the Kosovo officials’ visit to northern Mitrovica, Kosovo Police Deputy Commander for Region North Veton Elshani confirmed to KoSSev.
Kurti was reported to have also visited a recently-opened fast food restaurant on the Mitrovica pedestrian street.
