Kurti: Kosovo worthy partner to US, NATO

Prime Minister Albin Kurti said on Friday that Kosovo is becoming “a partner worthy” of alliances with the US and NATO.
“As we increase in size, add capabilities and raise our military capacities, Kosovo is becoming a partner worthy of consolidation among alliances with the United States of America and NATO,” Kurti wrote in a Facebook post commenting a visit by Kosovo Security Forces (KSF) commander Lieutenant General Bashkim Jashari to the United States.
Jashari was attending the 30th anniversary of the US National Guard State Partnership Program. Kurti said that he met with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark Milley and General Stephen Osborn Adjutant General of the Iowa National Guard.
Kosovo is in a partnership program with the Iowa National Guard. Kosovo’s joint exercises and training with NATO member states were canceled when violent protests broke out in northern majority-Serb municipalities where ethnic Albanian mayors elected in a vote boycotted by the local Serbs tried to force their way into local administration buildings under police escort.
