Following its invasion of Ukraine, Russia has stepped up efforts to destabilize the security situation in Kosovo in association with Serbia, its close ally in the Western Balkans, said Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, the KoSSev portal reported.

“Our government responded to this by intensifying cooperation with NATO, the EU, the US, Great Britain and key European allies. We have also doubled the funds for the Kosovo Security Force,” said Kurti, KoSSev reported.

The Kosovo Prime Minister claims that his government has taken steps to strengthen the dialogue with the Serb community as well as with other non-majority communities in Kosovo.

The aim is for these people “to integrate as equal members with full rights,” Kurti said.

"The rights of our minorities are protected and will be protected. We say that equality for all is necessary for a healthy democracy. There can be no democracy without human rights, without equality and without pluralism," said the Kosovo Prime Minister.
