Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti said on Thursday that the Serbian authorities have to accept documents saying Republic of Kosovo.
The Kosovo Prime Minister told Deutsche Welle that the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue should be principled, balanced and symetric. He said that Serbia should accept all Kosovo documents for the sake of the regional common market under the Berlin process.
“The regional common market is at the heart of the Berlin process. It’s not a replacement for the EU but a preparation for it. In order to achieve the common market, Serbia has to accept Kosovo documents and allow movement which is a European Union value. It’s high time to exert pressure on Belgrade to accept Kosovo documents,” Kurti said. “We can’t go back to pre-1999… We are independent. The documents belong to the republic and as such they have to be accepted,” he said.
Kurti said that Belgrade should distance itself from Moscow and impose sanctions on Russia. According to him, the European Union and NATO should make sure that official Belgrade no longer sits on three or four chairs and should appreciate the contributions made by Kosovo which will have no parallel projects expect the EU and NATO.
