Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti said that Kosovo does not have a problem with the Kosovo Serbs in the northern municipalities, but with Belgrade, “which has not distanced itself from Milosevic of the past and from Putin of the present.”

Addressing the Western Balkans Summit 2024, held in Pristina to mark 25 years since the end of the Kosovo war, Kurti said that Kosovo has offered rights to local Serbs, enabling their full integration.

Kurti explained that, out of 38 municipalities, ten are Serb-majority municipalities, and that 17 percent of councilors in local governments in all municipalities are Serbs, that cooperation with them is good, and that they have a Ministry of Communities.

We want the integration of Serbs in Kosovo, said the Kosovo prime minister, adding that Serbs make up four percent of the population, but that there are also other minorities in Kosovo.

Kurti said Kosovo does not have a problem with the Serbians in Serbia, but with the Serbian Government.

The problem is not with the people of our northern neighbor but with the Government of Serbia, and definitely not with the Kosovo Serbs who are integrating, he added.
