Lajcak, Petkovic discuss normalization agreement

European Union Special Representative Miroslav Lajcak said on Monday that he discussed the implementation of the agreement to normalize Belgrade-Pristina relations with the head of the Serbian government’s Office for Kosovo Petar Petkovic in Brussels.

“With Serbian Chief negotiator Petar Petkovic, I spoke about the EU draft statute of the Association of Serb majority municipalities, next steps to implement the Agreement on the Path to Normalisation and pending obligations,” he said in an X post.
Lajcak said that he will continue discussions with the Kosovo government later this week.

Petkovic said in an earlier X post that they discussed all agreements reached to date with focus on the forming of the Community of Serb Municipalities (CSM) and sorely needed de-escalation. “Our experts in the Belgrade delegation took part in the talks to form the CSM and draft its statute as well as missing persons and other important issues,” he wrote.
