The meetings continue on the protests launched by university students to initiate changes in the country.

The Serbian local administration law allows local communities to meet to discuss and make proposals on issues that fall within the powers of the municipal authorities who have 60 days to respond to proposals.

Identical meetings were reported in Cacak (where locals voted to oust the mayor), Obrenovac and Vlasotince (where the local administration building was pelted with eggs in both places) and Nis (where the crowd made noise).

In Belgrade, residents of the central Vracar municipality gathered in a park for what they called their first civic plenary. The meeting discussed communal, infrastructure and security issues. The meeting also decided that their next meeting will ask the municipal authorities what happened at the March 15 protest.

The Vracar meeting was initiated by university students calling the public to organize meetings as the carriers of sovereignty to discuss important issues and take decisions about the current crisis in the country.

In Novi Sad, the first community meeting was organized by an informal group that did not win the trust of the people gathered at the venue. The crowd expressed their lack of trust in the organizers by demanding that they state clearly if they support the student protests. The organizers put 3 issues on the agenda – the student demands, ways out of the crisis and current local issues in the northern city.
