Prosecutors in southern Serbia said that a councilman in the town of Bujanovac and his son were arrested for assaulting a retired police officer.
Bujanovac council member Sasa Arsic and his son Stefan (aide to the mayor of Bujanovac) were arrested on Monday on suspicion of inflicting serious bodily harm on retired policeman Tisa Trajkovic, the local Bujanovacke news portal reported.
The Arsic’s are said to be close to the ruling coalition in the town led by the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS).
