Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko called on Serbia to decide what kind of relationship it wants with his country.

In a meeting with new Belarusian ambassadors to several countries including Serbia, Lukashenko said the policies Serbia has and wants to have toward Belarus should be examined, reported the Russian agency RIA Novosti.

If Serbia wants cooperation, then there need to be results in trade and the economy, but if it wants to support European and American sanctions against Belarus, that is Serbia’s business, it should do that if it has forgotten all the good Belarus has done, said Lukashenko.

The Belarusian President, who has named new ambassadors to Serbia, China and several other countries in Africa and Asia, said Belarus would “keep embassies where necessary” if the West and the US do not want to cooperate with it, and move its main diplomats to the countries that want to cooperate with Minsk.

Lukashenko said Belarus cooperates with many countries and should focus on strengthening relations, including with Serbia, but that Serbia should work out what it wants. Saying one thing and doing the opposite is a policy nobody needs, he said.

Last year, Serbia joined the European Union (EU) sanctions against Belarus, but did not align with EU's decision of August to broaden the sanctions against Minsk.
