The Leader of the Democratic Party of Serbia (DS), Zoran Lutovac, assessed that the boycott of local elections by a part of the opposition killed the energy and that disunity in the opposition led to a loss of hope.

At the party's main board meeting that party in Belgrade, he said that the party is "stronger" after the election.

"We have shown that we are responsible and that the public interest is above our personal interest. It was important for the Democratic Party not to dissolve the unity of the opposition, and we did everything to prevent disunity," Lutovac said.

According to him, the circumstances that influenced the bad election result were systemic fraud and division in the opposition.
