Mali: Serbia economically strong, Hill: We want it to be even stronger

Serbian Finance Minister Sinisa Mali told a meeting with US Ambassador to Serbia Christopher Hill that Serbia is economically strong and stable, while Hill commended the achieved macroeconomic results, noting that the US wants Serbia to succeed and to be even stronger and more resilient.

Mali and Hill discussed the loan guarantee scheme that the US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC)  is implementing with banks in Serbia, with the Finance Ministry’s support, through which a wide range of financial products will become available to the Serbian economy on the most favorable terms, said the Finance Ministry.

The guarantee scheme will be officially presented in the course of December and it will help companies grow, create new jobs and preserve their business operations even in difficult times.

Minister Mali and the Ambassador also discussed the Open Balkan initiative and agreed that it is a good idea and a great opportunity for better connectivity, easier flow of people and goods and new jobs, said the Ministry.

Minister Mali said Serbia is fully committed to the initiative, adding that through the economy we can achieve great success and thus further connect with the region, said the Ministry press release.
