Serbian oil companies will be obliged to have four day reserves as of July 1, an official of the Association of Serbian Oil Companies said on Monday.
Association General Secretary Tomislav Micovic told the state TV (RTS) that every company selling fuel oil will have to store four days worth of oil at their own expense. The companies will also face the cost of buying those reserves. “The number of days will be increased and we will get to 10 days which is a huge reserve,” he said and warned that those costs will raise market prices.
According to Micovic, the four day reserves will not create problems but 10 days worth of fuel will require investments into storage facilities.
