Mayor presents Belgrade’s candidacy for EXPO 2027

The event would give strong impetus to the country’s and city’s infrastructure and economic development, said the city administration.

Sapic noted that Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic sent a letter in January this year expressing Serbia’s intention to submit a candidacy for the 2027 Specialized exhibition.

He said the theme of the EXPO 2027 Belgrade, presented to the guests on Wednesday, is “Play for Humanity: Sports and Music for All.”

Serbia is considered to be one of the most serious candidates and, in addition to Serbia, four other countries have submitted competing candidatures to organize the next specialized EXPO: the United States of America (in Minnesota), Thailand (in Phuket), Spain (in Malaga) and Argentina (in San Carlos de Bariloche), said the Beoinfo portal.

The host country of Specialized Expo 2027/28 will be elected by the Bureau members states in June 2023, during the General Assembly of the International Bureau of Exhibitions.
