Media: Permit issued for demolition of Belgrade’s Old Sava Bridge

On November 1, this historic crossing that has spanned the Sava River for over 80 years will be closed to traffic, it added.

eKapija cites the daily as saying that, while all legal obstacles have been cleared for dismantling the bridge to make way for a new arch bridge with greater traffic capacity, the actual demolition is not expected to start before next year.

According to the Serbia2027 website, the new bridge is scheduled for completion by 2027.
