Acting at the order of the Belgrade Higher Public Prosecutor's Office, police arrested the president of the Standardization steering board Dusan Rafailovic, businessman D.T. and 15 more persons, Serbia's public broadcaster RTS reported on Saturday. Pročitaj više

The arrests were carried out within the police operation to combat corruption.

Nova.rs reported that among the arrested persons is tycoon Dragan Tikic, originating from the Vojvodina region.

Reportedly, police arrested Rafailovic over the allegations of embezzling around a million euro and investing that money into the purchase of luxury cars and apartments.

According to RTS, his associate has also been arrested.

The businessman is allegedly suspected of damaging the state budget through tax frauds.
