Medical transportation drivers stage protest over low pay

Their demands include improvement of their material status, payment of daily wages, regulation of overtime and reduced years of service for retirement.

They also demand that all medical transportation vehicles be allowed passage through red traffic stop lights under specific circumstances, said the Sloga Union.

“The aim of this rally is not only to point out the irregularities and inadequate working conditions, but also to raise awareness of the importance of the role of medical transportation drivers in the health system,” said the Union statement.

The Union said it will take more radical steps in expressing their discontent if their demands are not met.
