A large crowd of people gathered in Sremska Mitrovica on Wednesday evening for yet another protest rally supporting Serbian students, and sending a message to President Aleksandar Vucic and the ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) that they are “not welcome” in their city.
Vucic has announced that an SNS rally on February 15, Serbia’s Statehood Day, will be held in Sremska Mitrovica, a city 70 km west of Belgrade.
“Where do you think you’re you going? You’re not welcome here!!!” was one of the banners seen at the protest rally in the city, as was the message “This is our city, AV is unwelcome in it.”
