Migration Commissioner: 116,312 migrants in Serbia's reception centers in 2022
Commissioner for Refugees and Migration Natasa Stanisavljevic stated that from January 2022 until today, 116,312 people have passed through the centres managed by the Commissariat, which is an increase of 101.65 percent compared to the same period last year.
On the occasion of International Day of Migrants on December 18, Stanisavljevic said that 5,200 migrants are currently staying in 16 reception and asylum centres, of which 4,780 are men, 156 women and 264 children from Morocco, Afghanistan, Syria, Burundi, Pakistan, it was stated in the announcement.
She said that 133,715 refugees from Ukraine passed through Serbia this year, adding that around 4,000 refugees from Ukraine were in private accommodation, while 83 people are housed in the Asylum Center in Vranje today.
