Milivojevic urges MPs to join students at RTS: Vucic ordered police to break blockade

Students protesters and citizens have been blocking access to RTS buildings since Monday evening. They are dissatisfied with the public broadcaster’s reporting and are demanding a new public call for the appointment of members to the Regulatory Body for Electronic Media (REM) Council or the shutdown of public service broadcasters.

Milivojevic told the Beta news agency that he got this information from reliable sources within the Internal Affairs Ministry (MUP) and the Security Intelligence Agency (BIA), and called on all opposition MPs to join the students in front of the RTS.

“Vucic has ordered police units to urgently break up the student blockades. He has lost his nerve and he is terrified like a little mouse and now, in a panic and out of fear, he wants to address the public through the RTS. I call on citizens to gather in large numbers tonight in Takovska St and Kosutnjak, and on all opposition MPs to stand with the students in front of RTS,” Milivojevic said.

He also claimed that Vucic has ordered the dismissal of BIA director Vladimir Orlic due to ongoing leaks from the agency.

“Vucic is furious over the leaks coming from BIA, especially because we know everything about the use of the sonic weapon,” Milivojevic said. He added that he would file a criminal complaint against the Internal Affairs Ministry for illegally acquiring and using the sonic weapon, as well as against an unauthorized individual who, “contrary to Serbian law and the Constitution, invited members of a foreign intelligence service (FSB) to conduct an investigation in Serbia.”

“Only a court can authorize the presence of foreign intelligence services in Serbia. Since the Russian FSB was not invited by a Serbian court, but by an unauthorized and non-competent individual, I will be filing a criminal complaint against Aleksandar Vucic,” the DS leader emphasized.
