Miner killed in Grot mine near city of Vranje

A miner from the Bosilegrad area, southern Serbia, was killed in the Grot mine near the city of Vranje, said the Prosecutor’s Office.

The accident was reported by the mine’s director, reported Radio OK.

Mining assistant R.M. (62) from the village of Rajcilovci near Bosilegrad, was killed during the operation of cleaning a channel used for loading ore.

An investigation is underway, the Prosecutor’s Office confirmed.

This is the second death of a miner in the Grot mine in just six months.
