Brussels cannot expect from Serbia to introduce sanctions on Russia and to forget that Moscow has always stood by Serbia at hard times, Serbian Internal Affairs Minister Aleksandar Vulin said on Saturday.
Commenting on the statement by EU spokesperson Peter Stano, who said Brussels expected Serbia to align its stance on this matter with the EU or to introduce similar measures due to Russian aggression on Ukraine, Vulin said that Brussels can only expect from Serbia to maintain its military neutrality and to take care of its own interests.
“Brussels cannot expect from Serbia to accept that EU or anyone else choses its friends or enemies,” he stressed.
Vulin noted that Brussels can also expect from Serbia to comply with the international law and inviolability of borders, “which is a lot more than Serbia can expect from Brussels.”
