Serbia’s Culture and Information Minister Maja Gojkovic denied on Wednesday that the number of attacks against journalists had increased as claimed by some media.

She said that the number of those attacks was not higher than before but that they were just more visible.

“This government has been actively tackling the issue. We formed a working group to protect journalists and I hope that has not gone unnoticed,” she told the pro-government TV Prva.

Gojkovic said that an SOS line had been set up to report attacks for the first time.
