Mining and Energy Minister Dubravka Djedovic Handanovic said on Friday that the Serbian Oil Industry (NIS) had been granted an extension on its operating license by the US Treasury’s OFAC.
She said the license was valid for another 60 days, adding that this is a positive signal in terms of progress in negotiations between the Hungarian MOL and Russian Gazpromneft on the sale of the NIS.
According to the minister, the Hungarian company’s top management is due to arrive in Belgrade on Saturday and their operations teams on Tuesday to discuss details of the transaction.
