Mining and Energy Minister Zorana Mihailovic said on Wednesday that Serbia received 13 percent more investments this year than in the same period a year earlier.
She said during a visit to a reconstructed power station in Smederevo that this year’s investments totaled 1.4 billion Euro. According to the minister, road and power infrastructre has to be the best possible to attract fresh investments which would lead to new jobs and development. Mihailovic said that another 770 million Euro would be invested into the power grid.
“We have new laws which provide the grounds to invest in new facilities, the power grid and energy infrastructure and there can’t be any economic development without that,” she said, adding that links to the region are also a requirement for development.
