The International Telecommunication Union (ITU), a specialized agency of the United Nations responsible for matters related to information and communication technologies, has placed Serbia among the world’s leading countries in its Global Cybersecurity Index (GCI), the Ministry of Information and Telecommunications said Monday.
This ranking places Serbia in the top tier of five groups, alongside nations with the most advanced cybersecurity.
The ITU evaluated five key development components: legal measures, technical measures, organizational measures, capacity-development measures and cooperation measures.
“Serbia has been recognized as a frontrunner in all these aspects, confirming our country’s significant contribution to ensuring high-level information security,” the Ministry said in a press release.
