Serbian Chief of Staff General Milan Mojsilovic discussed the security situation in Kosovo with KFOR commander Major General Ozkan Ulutas at their regular meeting in Belgrade, the Defense Ministry said on Wednesday.

The press release said that they discussed cooperation between the Serbian Armed Forces and KFOR in creating a safe and secure environment in Kosovo and the monitoring of the situation on the ground, preventing crises and responding to any potential security threats.

“Considering that the security situation in Kosovo and Metohija is unstable and sensitive, the two officials agreed that it was necessary to maintain good cooperation and direct communication at all levels,” it said.

It quoted Mojsilovic as saying that the Serbian military sees KFOR as the only legitimate security force in Kosovo “which, as such, is obliged to act professionally and impartially and protect the Serbian people and heritage in Kosovo and Metohija”.
