Serbian Domestic and Foreign Trade Minister Tomislav Momirovic told a meeting with Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto that Hungary was Serbia’s fifth trading partner last year with 3.65 billion euros, and the fourth in exports, which amounted to 1.5 billion euros, said a Ministry press release.

The Ministry quoted Momirovic as saying that in the past ten years the value of trade between Hungary and Serbia increased significantly, especially Serbia’s exports primarily driven by the growth of the export of automotive industry components.

Momirovic announced that he and Szijjarto will co-chair the Joint Committee for Economic Cooperation between Serbia and Hungary, adding that special efforts will be made to increase the exchange of goods between the two countries to four billion euros.

He noted that Serbia and Hungary have exceptional political cooperation, and that he discussed with Szijjarto the next steps in establishing even better trade relations and even closer ties between the two peoples, said the press release.
