The money for the repair of the burned house of Serbia's journalist Milan Jovanovic was collected thanks to the City of Belgrade, Multicom Group, capital's municipality Grocka, 'Slavko Curuvija' Foundation, Reporters Without Borders (RSF) and the Association of Serbia's Journalists (UNS).

"After three years, I can celebrate New Year and be hope for better days," Jovanovic said, thanking all donors.

His house was set on fire in 2018 in apparent revenge for his reporting for the Info Zig website on corruption in Grocka that involved the municipality head Dragoljub Simonovic. He was sentenced to four years and three months in prison for inciting the burning of Jovanovic's house.

A Belgrade Appellate Court overturned a lower court's ruling, causing a bitter reaction by Jovanovic and many other activists and journalists.
