The genocide took place in Srebrenica and there is no discussion about that, Montenegrin Deputy Prime Minister Dritan Abazovic tweeted Tuesday, just days after his Justice Minister said he would recognize the genocide once it was unequivocally proven.

“The genocide took place in Srebrenica. The Montenegrin government respects all international judgments and conventions. There is no discussion about that.  The one who does not understand this, has no place in state functions. Let’s look to the future, we have a lot of work to do,” Dritan Abazovic tweeted.

His tweet came as another reaction to a statement by the country’s Minister of Justice, Human and Minority Rights, Vladimir Leposavic, who denied the 1995 genocide against Bosniaks in Srebrenica.

His tweet came as another reaction to a statement by the country’s Minister of Justice, Human and Minority Rights, Vladimir Leposavic, who denied the 1995 genocide against Bosniaks in Srebrenica.

Leposavic’s statement was also condemned by the US, German and other Western and international embassies and institutions as well as the EU Commission who said there is no room in the EU for those denying the genocide and legally established facts.
