Montenegrin politician assaulted in Podgorica

Chairman of the Montenegrin Parliament Security and Defense Committee and one of the leaders of the Democratic Front Milan Knezevic was attacked Wednesday at the airport in the Montenegrin capital of Podgorica, the Democratic People’s Party, led by Knezevic, confirmed for the daily Vijesti.

Vijesti unofficially learns that Knezevic was assaulted when entering the airport building, first verbally and then also physically, prior to which he received insults on ethnic grounds.

Following questioning at the Podgorica Main Police Station where he filed a criminal complaint against the assailant, Knezevic said that he does not feel safe, that the attack on him was politically motivated and that he will start carrying a firearm.
