Serbian media reported that the daughters of Montenegrin Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapic had left Belgrade because of what they called a media witch hunt against their father.
Jelena i Milena Krivokapic told the media that they no longer feel safe in the Serbian capital because of the “witch hunt launched in local tabloids”. They said their family was subject to a media lynch with the tabloids saying he was “a traitor who spits in Serbia’s face”. The tabloid attacks came after the Montenegrin parliament adopted a resolution on Srebrenica which laid the blame for the genocide in that Bosnian town on individuals. The tabloids interpreted the resolution as being anti-Serbian.
Jelena and Milena Krivokapic said they had completed their university studies in Belgrade and stayed there with their families. “We have informed Montenegrin security institutions. We are in Montenegro at present and we will decide whether to leave Serbia and Belgrade all together following consultations with our families and the security services in Montenegro,” they said.
